The Tuscany Bath!

The Tuscany Bath finally finished! This is our hall bath, and I finished it up this spring. Just now getting around to loading the photos for you to see!

We completely gutted the existing bath, and started from the studs working our way out. Bob did most of the work, but my job was to design, help select fixtures, trims, paints, etc. When he had completed the wiring, plumbing, and carpentry, it was my turn to begin the finish work.
I used dry wall mud to create a faux Tuscany plaster effect. It was a two step process, finished with the painting and antiquing effects.
We are considering creating an instructional DVD on this process.
The door was a 1970's dark walnut stained flat panel door. To save on the expense of replacement, we opted to add the decorative wood trim, to create the effect of a paneled door, and then I painted and created a mottled antiqued effect.
With the addition of new hardware you can have a " new " door for less than $ 50.00!

There are final touches that need to be completed, such as floral pieces, a hand painted cabinet to hang over the toilet, oil paintings, and a curtain to hang on each side of the tub and shower.
I will create a picture trail album with all the photos, in time, including the before photos and the finishing touches when they are complete.
We will be finishing the office next, and we will share that with you as well. I am doing a faux effect on the walls in there as well.
